In 1984, the Sikh community experienced a year of oppression, atrocities, and destruction, leaving an indelible scar in their hearts. Today, the memory of that painful period still haunts the collective memory of Sikhs worldwide. Producer-director Vikram Sandhu, himself a member of the Sikh community, has taken the courageous step of bringing this painful history to the big screen.
Reference Teaser Launch:
On October 31, the reference teaser for Vikram Sandhu's film "Sarkari Katl-e-Aam 1984" was unveiled on the wall of truth at Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib, located on Parliament Street, Gurdwara Road, Delhi. This Hindi feature film is being produced under the banner of VS Film Worldwide, and its launch ceremony was attended by various dignitaries and celebrities.

The teaser launch took place at a memorial site dedicated to the memory of the Sikhs who suffered during the 1984 riots. RJ Anurag Pandey hosted the event, and Bollywood actors like Ali Asgar, Deepak Kumar, Deepraj Rana, Sanjay Swaraj, Janhvi Vora, Gulshan Pandey, Sanjeev Jotangia, Divya Lakshmi, and Punjabi actor Pammi Bai, among others, were in attendance.

Vikram Sandhu's Vision:
Vikram Sandhu, the producer and director of the film, shared his motivation for this project. He expressed how the memories of the 1984 riots still give him goosebumps. Being a part of the Sikh community and knowing that his ancestors endured that pain, he felt a strong calling to depict this truth on the silver screen. With courage and determination, he embarked on this mission to bring this history to the forefront.
Honoring the Martyrs' Widows:
During the program, Vikram Sandhu paid tribute to the widows of those who lost their lives in the 1984 riots. He honored them by presenting shawls and kits, acknowledging their tremendous sacrifices during that difficult period.
