Mumbai: Veteran filmmaker K. C. Bokadia’s acclaimed social drama Teesri Begum is all set for its digital premiere on WAVES OTT on July 18, 2026, following a successful theatrical run and positive audience response.
Known for blockbuster films such as Teri Meherbaniyan, Pyar Jhukta Nahin, Naseeb Apna Apna, Aaj Ka Arjun, and Phool Bane Angaray, Bokadia has once again turned his attention to a socially relevant subject. Starring Zarina Wahab, Mugdha Godse, and Kainaat Arora, Teesri Begum highlights themes of women’s empowerment, dignity, and social awareness.
Speaking about the film’s origin, Bokadia revealed that the story was inspired by a real-life experience. “At a social gathering, a man proudly introduced me to his first, second, and third wives. They belonged to different communities. What stayed with me was the hesitation and silent pain I noticed in the third wife. That moment deeply affected me and inspired me to make Teesri Begum,” he said.

According to Bokadia, Teesri Begum is more than just a film—it is a reflection of social realities and a story that encourages meaningful conversations about women’s rights and self-respect. He expressed confidence that the film would connect with an even wider audience through its OTT release.
Apart from Teesri Begum, Bokadia’s much-awaited film Teri Meherbaniyan 2 is scheduled for release in August 2026. His television ventures continue to attract attention, and his upcoming serial Sanskar is expected to premiere soon.
