Mumbai: Actor Heera Sohal, who is currently receiving appreciation for her performance in Inspector Avinash Season 2 on JioHotstar, is gearing up for one of the biggest projects of her career with Salman Khan’s upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace. Looking back at her experience of working alongside the superstar, Heera says it was a learning experience beyond acting.
Coming from Mohali with no film industry connections, Heera describes sharing screen space with Salman Khan as a milestone she never imagined. A longtime admirer of the actor, she says the opportunity meant as much to her family as it did to her. She also joked that being fellow Capricorns made it easier for them to connect.
Before meeting Salman, Heera had often heard stories about his generous and grounded nature. She admits those qualities were what made her respect him even before his on-screen persona. According to her, his kindness towards people always stood out more than anything else.

She recalls watching Salman personally look after members of the cast and crew, ensuring everyone was comfortable and had everything they needed. His concern for those around him, she says, was genuine and selfless.
While she may not have picked up acting techniques from him, Heera believes the biggest lesson she took away was about humanity and leadership. She says witnessing the way Salman treated people is something she will carry with her throughout her career and hopes to emulate if she reaches a similar position in the industry.
Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and backed by Salman Khan Films.
