Mumbai: Garima Jain has worked with enough producers and enough casts to know what is rare. The making of Eagle Films’ Office Office Chali Musaddi Ki Beti, she says without qualification, gave her the best ensemble she has ever been part of, and the man at the top set the tone for all of it.
On the environment on set, she is specific and generous in equal measure. She said, "Luckily, it's an ensemble cast. Every actor we met, including the primary cast and the character artists who were there for specific episodes, made sure the casting was well thought out. It was very easygoing on the sets.”
“All thanks to the director, who was like the captain of the ship and made sure the environment on the set was great. I saw the producer sitting on the set every day; he used to be there before us. He made sure that everybody ate together, sat together, and had fun together. We were singing on the set whenever a lighting setup was happening. We all used to sit together, jam, gossip, and sing. It was a beautiful experience," she added.

Eisha Singh at a Grand Star-Studded Premiere Screening of Her Horror Thriller Obsess
May 28, 2026What made it even more remarkable, she says, was the complete absence of ego, something she knows from experience is not guaranteed even on the best productions. She said, "Generally, I've done so much work and have seen all sorts of temperaments on set when it comes to actors. I've seen a lot of actors throw tantrums.”
“Luckily, in this particular one, whether it was a newcomer or a senior artist, nobody had such tantrums. I would just say it was the best set of co-actors I have ever had. Usually, it happens that one bad fish spoils the entire pond, but in our pond, there was not even one such fish," she added.
At the heart of everything was Umesh Mehra. She approaches the subject with the kind of care that comes from not wanting to sound like she is simply being polite. She said, "I just want to say that I'm not praising him or his company just because I'm a part of their show. I genuinely mean it because I've worked with so many producers. They are all good, but not to the level where Umesh ji is. He is such a senior person, having been in the industry for decades and decades.”

Who is the mystery man in Soniya Bansal’s life?
May 28, 2026“Not just that, he's an amazing human being too. He would take care of us and ask us every day, "Dear child, are you facing any trouble? Is there anything that you want to resolve?' It was not just with me; he made sure that everybody was safe, sound, and happy on the set so that the work happened smoothly," she added.
The food, as it does with every account of this production, becomes a story of its own. She said, "They say that the way to a person's heart is through their stomach, so whenever he used to come on set, he made sure to bring home-cooked food for all of us. He would message us and ask, 'Dear child, what do you want to eat?' I told him that I wanted achari aaloo, so he actually got that for me. Somebody else asked for something else, everyone made their own demands, and he brought them for everyone. That says a lot about a person, a big heart, and an amazing family to work with."
She closes with a line that is both a compliment and a confession. "I hope I get to work with him again and again because now he has spoiled us. It felt very good to work with him,” Garima ended
