Mumbai: The Society 2 contestant and digital creator Apoorv Kansal opens up about how the definition of fitness has evolved over the years, highlighting a much-needed shift from aesthetics to overall well-being. “Earlier, fitness was all about looking a certain way—abs, size, aesthetics. Now, it’s shifting toward feeling a certain way—energy, mental clarity, stamina,” he shares, adding that mental health has finally become a crucial part of the conversation.
Reflecting on his experience of living under constant cameras during The Society 2, Apoorv emphasizes the importance of mental fitness. “Trust me, when you’re in that environment, mental fitness matters just as much as physical,” he says.
Talking about traditional Indian practices, Apoorv strongly believes they remain timeless. “Nothing hits like simple home-cooked food and a structured daily routine. Dal, roti, sabzi over any fancy diet trend. These habits weren’t trends—they were systems,” he explains, pointing out that the real issue lies in people drifting away from these basics rather than the practices becoming outdated.

But small changes like stretching every 30–40 minutes, avoiding phones during meals, walking while taking calls, and getting 10–15 minutes of sunlight daily can make a huge difference,” he suggests.
Sleep, according to him, is one of the most underrated aspects of health. “In the show, irregular sleep messed with mood and focus. People think they can catch up later—you can’t fully. Sleep is your body’s reset button,” he says.
He also addresses the growing confusion around health trends. “Awareness has increased, but so has confusion. One day it’s keto, next day fasting. People are trying, which is great—but consistency beats trends every time. Health isn’t a 30-day challenge.”
