Mumbai: Filmmaker Abhishek Pathak has created a niche of his own with films that have become a new lens of viewing Hindi cinema and the impact it can have. By donning the hats of a producer, director, screenwriter and distributor under Panorama Studios, Pathak has created a filmography that displays his vision of striking a balance between content-driven cinema and commercial niche.
Abhishek has often shared that he has always wanted to be a director. And when he sat on that chair, he brought his directorial vision to the standout release Drishyam 2 (2022), and he is all set to do it again with the third installment of the hit franchise, while also helming it as a producer. The filming of the third installment is completed and is currently in the post-production stage. Bringing together Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Tabu and others, Drishyam 3 gears up for a theatrical splash on October 2 this year.
Before donning the hat of a director, Abhishek Pathak was purely into film production, in a quest to expand his vision as a filmmaker with purpose-driven cinema. In 2011, he served the unforgettable Pyaar Ka Punchnama, which continues to carry an incredible recall value. It was followed by the sequel in 2015, which cast a similar impression to that of the first. In 2015, he also sat on the producer’s chair for one of his finest works, Drishyam, a crime thriller that continues to enjoy a dedicated fanbase.
