From Spreadsheets to Spotlights: Partth Sarathi’s Journey from MBA to Cinema

From the small town of Madhavbhoomi in Assam to the create sets of Kannada cinema, Partth Sarathi’s journey was conventional. With an MBA in Finance from Delhi and a stable job as an accountant in a multinational company,Most people probably thought his future was already decided. But life has a way of surprising us.”

Reflecting on his early influences, Partth shares, “I feel like I carry two very active genes from my family.” On one side was his paternal grandfather, a deeply spiritual figure who narrated stories from Indian mythology, instilling in young Partth the power of storytelling and moral learning. “He was my first teacher,” he says. “And education was always a top priority in my family, so completing my academic degree felt like a necessary milestone.”

But the artistic streak ran just as deep. His maternal grandfather, also a teacher, had a strong love for the arts. That creative spark trickled down to his uncles, aunts, and even his mother, many of whom remain active in acting, writing, and direction as a passion. “My mausa ji is even a talented stand-up comedian,” Partth adds with a smile. “As they say, environment shapes the human spirit—and that was my environment.”

As time went on, the artistic side began to overshadow the corporate one. “This second gene started dominating me,” he admits. Eventually, he left his secure job and stepped into the unpredictable world of cinema—a leap of faith that led to his recent role in the Kannada film Goodnight Bengaluru.

Partth believes destiny had a hand in it all. “I’m just the co-captain of this ship. My tools are belief, hard work, and gratitude. And with those, I trust this journey will lead to an incredible destination.”

He ends with a thought that perfectly captures his perspective as an artist:
“If cortisol is the main enemy of the human body, then artists are the first doctors of the world.
