Actor-director Malati Chaahar hosted a special screening of her latest short film O Maaeri, drawing a close-knit circle of friends and well-wishers from both the cricketing and entertainment worlds. A former Miss India finalist, Malati Chaahar is known for her acting prowess in films like Genius, Ishq Pashmina, and the music video Sada Viah Hoya Ji. Fresh off the success of her last directorial venture, the short film 7 Phere – A Dream Housewife, which garnered over one crore digital views, Malati steps into the director’s chair once again with this moving new story, produced under her banner, Tea Cofy Films.
Also the sister of popular cricketer Deepak Chaahar, currently playing for Mumbai Indians, Malati first attracted national attention during the 2018 IPL season when her enthusiastic support for the Chennai Super Kings from the stands earned her the ‘mystery girl’ tag among masses and the press alike.

Malati’s ‘O Maaeri’, follows a mother and daughter story as they confront their deepest wounds to find healing and hope through their unbreakable bond. Without giving away too much, the narrative gently navigates themes of betrayal and trust, generational disconnects, and the quiet, powerful healing that stems from unconditional love.
Overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and encouragement, Malati shared, “I’m extremely grateful to everyone who came here to support me. Speaking about the film, she continued, “O Maaeri is a moving film that explores the themes of resilience, familial bonds, and the enduring strength of women. This story is inspired by the struggles many face in the quest for love and stability, reflecting on how past traumas shape our present and future.
