Fashion tips and tricks to get you through winter in style!

Slowly the winter season is setting in, and these changing seasons call for new styling in sync with the weather conditions. To embrace winter without compromising on the style quotient, &TV artists revamp their wardrobes and share their best-kept winter fashion styles. Artists include Neha Joshi (Yashoda, Doosri Maa), Kamna Pathak (Rajesh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Vidisha Srivastava (Anita Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai). Neha Joshi, essaying Yashoda in &TV’s show Doosri Maa, shares, “The Rajasthan weather in winter becomes chilly with average temperatures going as low as 0 degrees Celsius during the nights. I have spent considerable time in Maharashtra, so Jaipur winters are a welcome change. Wearing layered clothing is a must to keep oneself warm. I particularly like winters as the climate here is generally arid or semi-arid and features fairly hot temperatures over the year with extreme temperatures. There is a significant drop in temperature at night, so I have decided to change my wardrobe for the next few months. The winter wear here is beautiful and inspired by the colours and culture of the Royal State of Rajasthan, which not only make you feel warm but also complement your look and is fashionable. I wear my lightweight cotton Kurtis during the day and my woollen jacket after sunset, which I recently purchased from Jaipur’s famous Nehru Market. I have also added a variety of colourful shawls to my wardrobe, which I sometimes wear during my scenes as Yashoda. I have also bought a few shawls for my mother and cannot wait to hand them over”. Kamna Pathak essaying Rajesh in &TV’s show Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, says, “ I am from Madhya Pradesh, and winters here are mild and ideal for vacationing. Now is the best time to visit the state. At this time of year, temperatures can range from mild to severe. My mother would stock my wardrobe with jackets, overcoats, skullcaps, mittens, mufflers, scarves, and thermal wear as the seasons changed. Over the years, my mother and grandmother knitted many beautiful mittens, sweaters, and mufflers for my brother and me, which we both wore with joy and pride. Some of those mittens and sweaters are still in my closet. My mother recently gave me this fashionable grey cardigan sweater, which I assumed she bought at the well-known Sarafa market in Indore, but I was surprised to learn that she made it, especially for me. This cardigan sweater features a beautiful floral design on the shoulders and can be paired with jeans, a kurta, or a saree. My ultimate winter style statement is wearing my mother’s knitted woollen sweaters.” Vidisha Srivastava, essaying Anita Bhabi in &TV’s show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, says, “The clothes that I adore the most in winter are pop-coloured blazer, thigh-high boots, a long trench coat, or a monochromatic set. I had spent many beautiful winters in my hometown, Varanasi. Wearing jackets and warm clothing is essential in the winter. I still have my small sweaters and mufflers at my place. Winter nights in Varanasi are extremely cold, so wearing thick jackets and shawls becomes necessary. Recently, I read that made-in-Varanasi pashmina shawls are in great demand nowadays. I am a big fan of shawls, as they go with any of my attire, and this year, if I get a chance to visit Varanasi, I am planning to buy those shawls to warm myself up. Besides these, this season is great for lounging on your bed, watching your favourite show, and sipping hot coffee in your most comfy attire (laughter).”
