Indian Film Festival of Melbourne Celebrates 15th Year with Second Summer Edition

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) is celebrating its 15th anniversary in style! Following the success of the inaugural IFFM Summer Festival, the festival announced the second edition, taking place from February 29th to March 2nd, 2024. This three-day event complements the larger annual festival held in August, transforming IFFM into a biannual celebration of Indian cinema Down Under.

Opening Night Honors Kiran Rao's "Laapataa Ladies"

Adding to the excitement, the festival revealed Kiran Rao's directorial debut, "Laapataa Ladies" (Lost Ladies), as the opening film. The film, which premiered at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival, will have its Australian premiere at IFFM before its official release on March 1st, 2024. Rao expressed her delight, stating, "It's a great honor for 'Laapataa Ladies' to be the opening film... I hope the Melbourne audience enjoys the film."
