Mumbai: Actor Vishaal Mohan is steadily carving a niche for himself in the film industry with diverse roles and a strong commitment to his craft. Interestingly, his journey into acting began behind the camera. Vishaal started his career as an assistant director on the film Guzaarish, working under celebrated filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He later continued assisting on the film Aisha, gaining valuable experience about filmmaking before stepping in front of the camera.
Vishaal made his acting debut with the film Game 100 Crore Ka. Since then, he has taken on varied roles that showcase his versatility. From portraying a sincere young man in Yadav Ji Ki Love Story to playing a government officer in Aashiqui Imtehaan Leti Hai, and later appearing in a contrasting role in Mehndi 2, Vishaal has continuously experimented with different characters.
Speaking about the evolving audience and the film industry, Vishaal said, “Viewers are very smart these days. Our education system and access to information have changed a lot. Today audiences understand filmmaking and can clearly identify who is a good actor, director, or producer. There are many star kids and actors whom audiences do not accept if they fail to fulfill their responsibilities as artists.”

The actor also highlighted the impact of streaming platforms on modern entertainment. “With so many OTT platforms today, content is available everywhere. I personally enjoy watching content on these platforms and observing how actors portray their characters. I try to learn something new every day.”
Vishaal revealed that he is currently working on a new comedy project with a first-time director whose storytelling impressed him. “I chose this project because the director’s observation and storytelling are quite different. If you notice my films, I have played very different roles in each one. I believe actors should explore different sides of their personality and also convey meaningful messages to society.”

Apr 12, 2026Despite mixed reactions to Yadav Ji Ki Love Story, Vishaal says the audience response to his performance has been encouraging. “The film received some criticism, but people appreciated my performance and the character I played. Before doing any scene, I practice a lot. After giving a take, I watch myself on the monitor and analyze if anything can be improved so that I don’t go out of character. Ratings are up to the audience — my focus is always on hard work.”
Reflecting on the changing landscape of cinema, Vishaal noted that opportunities have evolved significantly. “Earlier cinema was a limited source of entertainment, but today content is everywhere. As a newcomer, I may not always have many options to choose from, but whatever work comes my way, I try to give my best. I also like to keep our culture and traditions intact in my characters. I always do my research and homework before going on set.”
Looking back at his journey, the actor admitted that he never expected such a response from audiences. “When I started, I wasn’t sure whether people would like my acting. But now that audiences are appreciating my roles, the sense of responsibility has increased. It motivates me to work even harder.
