Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were the talk of the town at the recent Dadasaheb Phalke International film festival awards held at a luxurious five-star hotel in Mumbai on Monday. The two actors, who are also known for their off-screen romance, bagged the top honors at the prestigious event.

Alia Bhatt won the coveted award for Best Actress for her outstanding performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. The movie, which is based on the life of a woman who ran a brothel in Kamathipura, Mumbai, received critical acclaim and was also a commercial success. Alia’s portrayal of the titular character Gangubai was lauded by critics and audiences alike, making her a deserving recipient of the award.
