Kolkata: 2nd March, 2026: The historic Central Courtyard of the Indian Museum was transformed into a vibrant celebration of spring as eminent Odissi exponent Dona Ganguly curated and led a spectacular presentation for Vasanta Utsav 2026 on March 1.
Organised by the Indian Museum, Prabha Khaitan Foundation and Diksha Manjari under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, the evening brought together art lovers, dignitaries, senior citizens, and families to welcome the season in its most graceful form.
The festival featured a captivating showcase curated by Dona Ganguly along with the accomplished students of Diksha Manjari, her esteemed Odissi institution, presenting evocative compositions that beautifully captured the spirit of Vasanta - a season symbolising renewal, joy, and artistic blossoming.

Adding a rich musical dimension to the evening were soulful Rabindra Sangeet performances under the direction of Ananda Gupta. The narrative flow of the programme was eloquently guided by Shri Sundeep Bhutoria, whose poetic commentary provided context and continuity to the unfolding celebration.
For decades, Dona Ganguly has been a torchbearer of Odissi in Bengal, building a cultural movement through Diksha Manjari that continues to inspire discipline, artistry, and pride in India’s classical traditions. Her leadership at Vasanta Utsav 2026 once again reaffirmed her stature as one of the foremost cultural ambassadors of the state.
