Spiritual healer Aarti Kakkar, who blends candle magic, energy assessment, tarot alignment and crystal healing, says her connection with the ocean has shaped a large part of her intuitive work.
Speaking about her regular visits to the coastline whenever she is in Mumbai, she explains that the sea acts as one of the most natural healing tools available to people. “Every time I visit a coastal city, my time at the sea is intentional. For me it is not leisure. It is alignment,” she says. According to her, the power of the ocean is intertwined with lunar energy, which in traditional healing is associated with intuition and emotional cleansing.
“The moon affects the tides through gravitational pull and just as it influences the oceans, it influences human emotions and biological rhythms,” she adds.
“When you stand before the sea, you are not just looking at water. You are witnessing lunar energy in motion.”
Aarti also highlights the therapeutic value of seawater. “Saltwater has been used across cultures for purification. Physically it detoxifies the body and calms the nervous system. Energetically it absorbs heaviness or stagnant emotions,” she says.
In the context of a city like Mumbai where people often feel mentally overloaded, she believes the coastline plays the role of an unspoken healer. “The sound of waves naturally regulates your breath. The rhythm of the tides slows down the mind. Even scientifically, being near natural water bodies reduces cortisol levels,” she explains.
She often recommends a simple routine to those struggling with emotional stress. “Sit near the ocean. Dip your hands or feet in the water. Close your eyes. Breathe deeply. Let the waves carry away the heaviness you are holding,” she says.
Aarti clarifies that these practices are grounded in both science and spirituality. “This is not superstition. It is nature therapy, mineral exposure, breathwork and lunar influence coming together,” she says.
Through her healing work, she aims to make such methods more accessible. “My intention has always been to blend spirituality with logic. Healing does not always come from complicated rituals. Sometimes the most powerful tools are simple elements of nature we have forgotten to value,” she says.
According to her, the sea remains one of the most effective and easily available forms of emotional reset. “For people living in Mumbai, it is a remedy that costs nothing and gives so much. For those who live far from the coast, visiting a beach when you feel drained can shift your entire energetic state,” she concludes.
