Ravi Teja’s latest film, Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, has had a rough start at the Indian box office this Sankranthi. The Telugu romantic comedy only managed to rake in about Rs 3 crore on its opening day, which clearly shows that audience interest is pretty low right from the get-go.
One major issue for the film seems to be the lack of buzz before its release. Even though it launched during the festive Sankranthi period, it flew under the radar for many moviegoers, with a lot of people not even realizing it was out until after it hit the screens. In a time when big titles and heavy promotions are the norm, the film’s low-key marketing definitely hurt its chances at the box office.
Directed by Kishore Tirumala, the film has also suffered from disappointing word-of-mouth. Initial reactions from audiences and critics have been mostly lukewarm, which has only added to its struggles. With negative chatter spreading fast, industry experts are now saying that the film’s box office future looks pretty bleak.
To make matters worse, it’s facing stiff competition at the box office. Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi was released alongside major contenders like Prabhas’ The Raja Saab and Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, both of which have taken up a large share of screens and audience attention. Other Telugu films like Anaganaga Oka Raju and Nari Nari Naduma Murari have also crowded the festive lineup, leaving little room for Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi to find its footing.

The film features Ashika Ranganath and Dimple Hayathi in the lead roles, supported by a cast that includes Sunil, Vennela Kishore, Getup Srinu, Muralidhar Goud, and Sathya. Released on January 13, this rom-com might quickly lose screens in the coming days if its box office numbers don’t pick up.
Now, everyone is watching to see if the festive holidays can bring any last-minute boost, although expectations are pretty modest as the Sankranthi box office race heats up.
