Actress Ashima Chauhaan, who is seen in the show Sapnon Ki Chhalaang, says that she loves being part of the show. The actress adds that she has always wanted to take up such a character.
“I have always been passionate about making a mark in the acting industry. To be remembered for some versatile impactful roles is what I aim for. When I got the show, Sapnon Ki Chhalaang, on Sony Television, I literally felt that my dream journey towards my goal has started and now I am moving forward to closer to it,” she says.
Talking about the character she is playing, she says, “I am playing Alisah Alva on the show, who is very fair with people and situations, she is strong and assertive. She is one of the five main office colleagues with Radhika in ACS 360, our company. She is straight forward and focused. A sobo-nepo kid, with a lavish lifestyle that is misinterpreted, of course. She does not create troubles for Radhika instead dislikes Kartik for his bad intentions and traps to pull down Radhika. She is usually the one to take stand for something she feels is right.”
She adds, “Apart from the nepo kid situation, there are quite a few things that I relate with her. Her confidence, determination to take a stand for herself and others and, of course, her absolute amazing love for herself. I am a small-town dreamer myself, hustling hard to make my dreams come true, keeping my family values and roots with me. Coming from small towns to a city like Mumbai can be intimidating at times. However, my advice would be to keep at it, if your vision is focused towards your goal, you are unstoppable!”

Ashima prepared well for her character. “I did a look test and trials. I discussed my character with Mr. Arif Ali, our director, who then mentioned a few characteristics about Alisah – carefree, stylish, straightforward, confident. Then I went through a few lines and tried to inhibit her few habits as per the character in me. I have also drawn experiences from my life where I have had Sobo friends and I have taken their behavioural references in order to bring Alisah to life,” she says.
Talking about working with Nilanjana Purkayasstha and Herumb Khot ( Invictus T Mediaworks), she says, “It’s quite overwhelming to be working with Nilanjana Ma’am and Herumb Sir. They have produced huge hits like Kulfi Kumar Bajewale, Peshwa Bajirao. I love the way Sapnon Ki Chhalaang is coming out. The story is so realistic, any small-town girl, her family and friends will easily relate.”
Meanwhile, talking about the best part of the entertainment industry, she says, “The best thing about being a part of the entertainment industry is to feel responsible about delivering the correct emotion, message. I feel it’s social work because you are impacting a huge lot of people even in your worst situations. A point where the audience becomes your priority. It’s a responsibility that you have to diligently play
