Akash Sharma is a man of many talents. He’s a doctor, fitness model, and professional boxer, but one of his greatest passions is traveling. According to Sharma, traveling is not just a hobby, but a therapeutic experience that can help anyone relax and rejuvenate.

Sharma believes that in today’s fast-paced world, it’s essential to take a break and explore new places. “Traveling is my passion because I feel it is a big stress buster and we get to know different cultures,” he explains. “As leading a fast metro life and demanding profession, I cannot take out a long time for a holiday. But I love to take small well-organized holidays in places close to nature and peace. These serve a good rejuvenation for me and nutrition for my mind.”

One of Sharma’s recent vacations was to Thailand for 8-10 days, during which he indulged in various sports activities. “As a professional athlete, it puts new life in me,” he says. He also went on a short holiday to Dubai, a country that fascinates him with its peaceful aura despite its rapid development.

Sharma prefers traveling solo, especially for mountain hiking, as he finds being close to nature peaceful and rejuvenating. He shares an interesting experience he had while hiking in the deep jungle of mountains, where he lost his way and had no network. Despite the hunger and thirst, he enjoyed exploring and finally found his way by late evening.

When asked about his dream destinations, Sharma says that Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya is at the top of his list. “Wildlife is my passion, and I am fascinated to see animals’ behavior and how they express themselves,” he shares. He also dreams of visiting Jamaica, known for its beautiful springs, waterfalls, and nature reserves. “It is on a large underwater mountain, and is fascinating,” he says.

Sharma believes that traveling not only allows him to relax and unwind, but also teaches him valuable life lessons. “Traveling has taught me the importance of being adaptable, independent, and respectful of different cultures,” he says. He also believes that traveling helps one break out of their comfort zone and try new things.

As a doctor, Sharma also acknowledges the importance of taking breaks to maintain one’s mental and physical health. “Traveling helps me maintain a balance between work and personal life,” he says. “It gives me the opportunity to disconnect from work and focus on my mental and physical well-being.”

Sharma encourages everyone to take a break and explore new places. “Traveling is not just about seeing new places, but it’s also about experiencing different cultures, meeting new people, and creating memories that last a lifetime,” he says. “So, take that well-deserved break, and go on that dream vacation you’ve always wanted.
