“Bholaa Crosses the ₹50 Cr Mark at the Box Office: Ajay Devgn’s Film Steady on Weekdays”




Ajay Devgn’s latest directorial venture, Bholaa, is making waves at the box office. The Hindi remake of the Tamil hit Kaithi, Bholaa has garnered positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. The film has also managed to cross the ₹50 crore nett mark within its first six days of release. With early estimates suggesting that the film has minted ₹53 crore nett so far, Bholaa is on track to reach the ₹57 crore nett mark within its first week.

Directed by Ajay Devgn, Bholaa is produced by Ajay Devgn FFilms, Reliance Entertainment, T-Series Films, and Dream Warrior Pictures. The film stars Ajay Devgn as a newly freed prisoner and Tabu as an IPS officer. It also features Deepak Dobriyal, Vineet Kumar, Sanjay Mishra, and Gajraj Rao in pivotal roles. The film’s story revolves around an ex-convict who gets caught in a face-off between police and the drug mafia while trying to meet his daughter for the first time after being released from prison.

The film opened to a decent response on Thursday (March 30) with a collection of ₹11.20 crore nett. It continued to hold steady at the box office, earning ₹7.40 crore nett on Friday, ₹12.20 crore nett on Saturday, and ₹13.48 crore nett on Sunday. On Monday, the film earned ₹4.50-₹5 crore nett, similar to its first Monday collections. Tuesday, being a holiday on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, witnessed better occupancy in evening shows, and the film earned another ₹4.50-₹5 crore nett. With these collections, Bholaa has managed to cross the ₹50 crore nett mark within six days of its release.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has been closely tracking the film’s box office performance. He tweeted, “#Bholaa is steady on the make-or-break Mon… Reported better occupancy in evening shows, since Tue [today] is a holiday [#MahavirJayanti]… Thu 11.20 cr, Fri 7.40 cr, Sat 12.20 cr, Sun 13.48 cr, Mon 4.50 cr. Total: ₹ 48.78 cr. #India biz. Another holiday on Fri [#GoodFriday] should also help the film begin Weekend 2 on a positive note. #BoxOffice.”


As per a report by Sacnilk, Bholaa’s first seven days of business are heading towards the ₹57 crore nett mark, while the extended first-week business of eight days should be around ₹61-63 crore nett. The film is expected to benefit from the Good Friday holiday, which falls on April 8, and begin its second weekend on a positive note.

Bholaa marks Ajay Devgn’s fourth directorial film after U, Me aur Hum in 2008, Shivaay in 2016, and Runwav 34 in 2022. The film’s success at the box office is a testament to his directorial skills and his ability to deliver a gripping story. With positive word-of-mouth and steady collections, Bholaa is expected to continue its successful run at the box office in the coming days.
