Renowned VastuShastri expert Khushdeep Bansal has shared his journey of embracing the Hindi language and the profound importance it holds in his life. While Hindi was not his native tongue, he was inspired by a mentor and recognized the immense potential of the language.
Khushdeep Bansal hails from Punjab, where his early education was conducted in the Punjabi medium. It was during his engineering studies, which initially began in Punjabi and later transitioned to English during the 11th and 12th grades, that he was introduced to the Hindi language. However, it was a momentous encounter with Shri. Kuppahalli Sitaramayya Sudarshan in Hyderabad around 1989-1990 that left a lasting impact on him. Hearing Shri. Sudarshan speak in Hindi inspired Bansal to embark on a journey to learn the language.
As Khushdeep pursued his engineering education in Maharashtra, he dedicated himself to mastering Hindi. His mentor, Dr. Chandragupt Varnekar, who was proficient in Marathi, Sanskrit, and a fusion of Sanskrit and Hindi, played a pivotal role in his linguistic journey. During their engineering college days when they were preparing for the GRE test to study abroad, they diligently worked on expanding their English vocabulary. Similarly, Bansal decided to apply the same rigorous approach to learning Hindi.
Khushdeep Bansal acknowledges that Hindi possesses a unique ability to convey emotions and expressions in a simple and smooth manner. He points out that despite the richness of other Indian languages, Hindi cinema retains its distinct identity and charm. It has the power to effectively communicate with over 70% of the Indian population.

His journey to become proficient in Hindi involved extensive effort and dedication. He immersed himself in Hindi literature, beginning with Hindi poetry. He explored the works of eminent figures like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, whom he considers his guru. Dwivedi’s literature, particularly related to the Nath Sampradaya and Sant Kabir, enriched his understanding of the spiritual heritage of India.
While Khushdeep Bansal acknowledges that traces of his Punjabi accent may still linger, he takes great pride in expressing himself in Hindi. He is committed to further honing his Hindi language skills. He envisions that Hindi, as a language, has the potential to make a global impact, and he aims to contribute to its growth.
In conclusion, Khushdeep Bansal’s journey to embrace Hindi and appreciate its significance underscores the importance of linguistic diversity and the rich heritage of languages in India. His passion for Hindi exemplifies the enduring appeal and power of language to connect people and convey profound thoughts and emotions.
