Adarsh Gourav, the BAFTA-nominated actor, is all set to make his mark in Hollywood with his upcoming project, Extrapolations. The show is set in a dystopian time and revolves around the growing effects of climate change that the world is currently facing. For Extrapolations, he went to a remote village in Nagpur to understand the harsh realities that farmers and their families face.

In the past, Adarsh Gourav has shown a deep commitment to his craft. For his role in the Netflix hit The White Tiger, he spent time working at a food stall to prepare for his role as Balram Halwai, a character who comes from a poor background. For Extrapolations, Gourav wanted to understand the plight of farmers and their families, who have been hit hard by climate change. He traveled to a remote village in Nagpur to meet widows of real farmers, which turned out to be an emotionally grueling experience.

Talking about his experience, Gourav said, “I believe in understanding and empathizing with the person I embody on screen. For this role, I traveled to a remote village in Nagpur where I met widows of real farmers. Talking to them made me aware of a reality that is neither well reported nor documented, which helped me to reach the pathos of the character. I do hope that through this show, more people especially from big cities understand the sacrifices farmers and their families have to make, so that they can have a comfortable meal at home. I hope that this show brings in change so that these widows and their children have a genuine shot at making something of their lives.”
